(N.Z Press Association)
INVERCARGILL, No. 2.
A Christchurch man, Stephen Charles Goddard, aged 22, was found guilty on a charge of aggravated robbery by a jury in the Supreme Court at Invercargill yesterday.
Goddard was remanded in custody until Friday for sentence by the Chief Justice (Sir Richard Wild). He pleaded not guilty. The charge arose out of an incident in the Avenal Hotel, Invercargill, when Frank Gerald Hutton, aged 62, a Mosgiel salesman, was robbed of $ll in his hotel room, on August 7. Raymond Neil Forrester was recently sentenced to imprisonment for his part in the robbery; he pleaded guilty.
