ARRIVAL DELAYED

Thomson in N.Z. golf

(N.Z.P.A. .'’tag Correspondent) SYDNEY. The Melbourne golfer, P. W. Thomson, Australian Open title-holder again, at the age of 43, will take part in the New Zealand circuit this year. Thomson said from Melbourne yesterday, however, that he had not yet been able to decide the events in which he would be able to compete. “I have business commitments in Japan for the next two or three weeks and will have to miss the early New Zealand tournaments. But I will be there for the later part of the circuit," he said. Tournament organisers said in New Zealand last week when entries closed for the first tournaments that they expected an entry from Thomson and the entry deadline would be extended for him.

On Monday, Thomson beat a fellow Australian, D. Graham, by six shots in an 18s hole play-off for the Australian Open at Adelaide.
