First heat of Sunburst
Twenty-one yachts — the largest entry for some years —contested the first heat of the Canterbury Sunburst class championship, staged by the Mount Pleasant Yacht Club on Saturday. Pas de Deux, sailed by the present title-holders H. Kingham and Mrs E. Edgerton, led from start to finish and wore in 63min 18sec, beating A, and J. Britton in Sunbeam by 3min 46sec. C. and R. Nordstrom, in Sunmail were third in 69min 18sec, and D. and N. Peperell, in Sundance, fourth. The second race will be held at Pleasant Point on December 3.
