Nursing education
Sir, —We are pleased to see at last, some space, small though it may be, given to the subject of nursing education. Over the last few years we have been constantly bombarded by psychiatric nurses’ claims for better con-
ditions and higher wages, undoubtedly warranted. However, as tactics such as strikes and stopwork meetings are not practicable when the care of seriously ill patients is at stake, general nurses have carried out a long, unrewarding, crusade over the last two years urging Government action on the matter of nursing education. We support “Concerned Nurse’’ in her appeal for public support in this important matter. Are the Opposition prepared to publish a statement on their proposed scheme for improvements in nursing education before the elections?—-Yours, etc., ALSO CONCERNED. October 27. 1972.
