Field scholar leaves
The head girl at Mairehau High School, L. Candy, left Christchurch on Tuesday evening to take up an American Field Service scholarship in Sweden. The principal of Mairehau High School (Mr A. B. Ryan) told the board of governors yesterday that the pupil would stay at Lulea. a city with a population of about 60,000, situated 60 miles south of the Arctic Circle at the northern extremity of the Gulf of Bothnia.
