Auction of bicycles
About 200 people attended an auction of 115 lost and unclaimed bicycles—offered on behalf of the Government Stores Board—in the sale rooms of George Anderson and Son, Ltd, yesterday. Five bicycles were claimed before the sale.
Two children’s bicycles and about equal numbers of men’s and women’s bicycles were sold at prices ranging from $1 to $36. The average price paid was about $lO. The sale lasted for just over an hour. Mr J. L. T. Dyer was the auctioneer.
