Meter fee changes
Parking-meter enforcement charges normally paid to the Ministry of Transport by the Christchurch City Council would be adjusted by the ministry to compensate for the time during the meterofficers’ strike when there was no enforcement, said the regional secretary of transport (Mr D. L. Hogan) yesterday. The ministry’s normal charge was $lO a year for each meter it policed, Mr Hogan said. Any other claims against the Ministry for loss of revenue during the strike would be referred to the Solicitor-General, who would act for the ministry, Mr Hogan said.
