V.S.A. session in Chch
The Volunteer Service Abroad organisation will hold a three-day selection and information "session in Christchurch because of the interest shown by Christchurch people. The organisation’s selection and training officer (Miss K. Clark) said that Canterbury volunteers waiting to be interviewed would not now be required to travel to Wellington. “We will also be holding some question and answer sessions for Christchurch people who want to know more about V.5.A.,” she said. To fill all requests this year V.S.A. needs 57 volunteers. About 65 per cent of those who volunteer are accepted for overseas posting. Of the 117 New Zealanders now serving with V.S.A. in the Pacific or South-East Asia, 21 come from Canterbury. Miss Clark may be telephoned at 516-589 before Monday.
