Bagged, rubbish
When the paper bag system of rubbish collection was introduced in Riccarton Borough on January 1, considerable leeway had been given to residents in the use of the old tins—but this would cease in the near future, the Mayor (Mr R. W' J. Harrington) told a meeting of the council last evening. By April 1, only official bags would be collected and there would be an improved commercial service. Bags had proved very fast and clean to collect, he said.
