Drowning in Fiordland
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Nov. 29. The body of a fisherman who was swept into the Eglinton River, 23 miles north of Te Anau yesterday afternoon, was found by skindivers today. He was
Charles M. Greenslade, aged 76, a surgeon, of Dunedin.
Mr Greenslade had been fishing with a companion, Mr Ronald Bisdee, of Temuka. The body was found about 60 yards from where he was seen to disappear.
The English athlete, D. Bedford, won the international invitation cross-country race over 8000 metres at Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead, London, in a time of 22min 9sec, finishing Ssec ahead of compatriots J. Lane and A. Holden.
