AWARD MADE
A Christchurch architectural sales representative, Mr B. V. Walker, aged 36, was named distinguished salesman of the year at the award dinner.
Mr Walker was selected by a panel of judges from a list of eight candidates whose names and records had been submitted by their companies. He is employed by Dulux, New Zealand, Ltd, and his company was presented with a plaque to mark his achievement.
Mr Walker was presented with the club’s “Oscar”-like statuette.
The award was announced by the Minister of Tourism (Mr Walker). The judges (Mr E. S. F. Holland, M.P., Mr R. H. Stewart, and Professor A. M. Boum) in making what they said was a very difficult decision, studied the “case histories” submitted by
the employing companies, and interviewed each of the nominees.
The Canterbury Sales and Marketing Executives Association, which was the host association for the award, also presented a special award to its secretary (Mr R. K. Skellerup) for his service to the association.
