Transmission of data
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. An international data transmission service will be introduced between Australia and New Zealand on December 1, the Postmaster-General (Mr McCready), announced. He said that the service would later be extended to the United Kingdom and to other countries, where practical, and where there was a demand for the service. The data transmission service will operate over the normal national and international telephone network, calls being established and charged for on a per minute basis —with a minimum charge for three minutes.
