Oil drivers’ pay up

WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. Increases of up to 17.3 per cent on January 1, 1971, base rates are contained in the New Zealand oil drivers’ award, the rates of which were subject to amendments by the Remuneration Authority. The new rates, which apply from the pay week on or after August 26, range from $52.59 a week for drivers of vehicles for which a heavy trade licence is not needed (a $7.79 or 17.3 per cent increase) to $58.86 for articulated vehicles of more than 20 tons ($8.13 or 16.3 per cent).
