POSTER NOT BOARD’S
(N.Z. Preu Auociationl WELLINGTON, Sept. 22. The “nude girl” meat poster used for New Zealand meat promotion in Japan was neither produced nor commissioned by the Meat Board, said its New Zealand manager (Mr H. C. M. Douglas) today. The board’s promotion material in Japan was prepared by a large Japanese advertising agency, particular consideration being given to “local standards of taste apd high quality," Mr Douglas said. Many companies trading overseas produced publicity material for their own use, and the “nude girl” poster had been printed and distributed by a private exporting company, as it was quite entitled to do, without reference to the board, Mr Douglas said.
