PANEL ON MAORI
A panel discussion entitled “Maori and Pakeha—Two Cultures, One Community?” will be held at Papanui High School on September 29. -? The discussion has been Krai cil and will consider topics sudtas Maori tradition, race relations, Maori. In education, the Maori and religion, ana ' Speakers on the panel include Mr L. Stewart, lecturer in Masri Studies in the lege, Mr H. M. Taumaunu, lecturer in Maori Studies, secondary division, and the Rev. H. Vercoe, chaplain at Ta. J&V Pounamu Maori Girls* College. The discussion is being held as part of the New Zealand South Pacific Year In an attempt to interest the community outside the church. The Inter-Church Council is a body which co-ordinates the activities of six churches and five different denominations within the Papanui* Redwood area.
