(N:Z.P.A:-Heuter— Copyright) LONDON. Surrey moved closer to the English county cricket championship when it picked up three batting bonus points in its first innings against Glamorgan yesterday. Needing 14 points from its last two matches to win the title, Surrey was set a fine example by its. skipper, M. J. Stewart, whose 108 included 13 fours, and Provided the backbone of the innings. Scores were: At the Ovsl: Surrey 304, Glamorgan 20/0. At Bristol: Sussex 290/8 (It. Buss 83, 1. Parka 82), v. Gloucestershire.
Golf.—J. Nlcklaus stUl heods the money-winners on the United States golf circuit this and A. Palmer 8194,937.
Soccer.—The English Football Association has lifted the life ban Imposed eight years ago on the former Mansfield player, B. Phillips. In 1963, Phillips was found guilty of bribery.
