Furnishings for home for aged
k cheque for $5OO towards furnishings for the new George Manning Home for the aged was presented last evening to Mr D. F. Nuttall, president of the Christchurch South Rotary Club, .by the Altrusa Club of Christchurch. The Christchurch South Rotary Club has undertaken to provide $20,000 worth of furnishings for the new home. So far, $17,000 had been raised, said Mr Nuttall yesterday. Sir George Manning, a former Mayor of Christchurch, after whom the home is named, attended the presentation. •- Most of the money raised to date has been through the efforts of the Rotary club, which has held fairs, a bottle drive, crane rides at the. Industries Fair, a charity concert, and an auction. Another fair in three weeks should complete the fund-raising.
