Loss of $1985 reported
A loss of $1985 Is shown in the accounts of the Marlborough Trotting Club. The club showed a loss of $6OB for the previous year, and $2326 for the year before that With stakes being increased by $l2OO and farming operations showing an increased loss of $3230, the result for the year was considered satisfactory, says the annual report. The number of horses attending the club’s annual meeting totalled 160, a big increase on the 107 in 1969. Twenty-two races were run during the two days, with full stakes being paid in all division races.
