FEDERATED FARMERS
Wool selling decision (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 2. The meat and wool council of Federated Fanners unanimously decided at a special meeting that some refor mof the wool-market-ing system was necessary, according to a statement by Federated Farmers. It also decided without dissent that any new marketing scheme should be commercially orientated, with grower responsibility as to policy. It further decided that there should be adequate safeguards for any public funds which might be involved.
“Meetings now will be called by Federated Fanners throughout the country to provide growers with the opportunity to hear and consider the Wool Board’s new marketing proposals. “Growers’ reaction will be conveyed to the board at the special joint meeting of the council and the electoral committee on October 12,” said the chairman, Mr B. Dryden.
