Boilermakers end strike

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. Fifteen boilermakers employed by Fletchers at Kinleith returned to work today after a 10-week strike. Immediately, representatives of the Auckland Boilermakers’ Union and employers met under the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr G. O. Whatnall), to settle the issue over which the men stopped work. The men, employed on construction work for N.Z. Forest Products, Ltd, sought an isolation allowance equal to an extra hour’s pay a day.
