SURFING AWARD
A trophy for the Canterbury “surf life-saver of the year’’ has been presented by the Sumner club and will be retrospectively awarded for last season. Presented to commemorate the memory of the late Mr L J. Sutherland, a life member of the Canterbury association, the trophy is thought to be the first of Its kind in New Zealand surf life-saving. The award will be made to the S arson who is adjudged to have one moat for the sport in Canterbury in the season.
