“DELUSION” ON EUROPE

In its July issue, published today, the British news magazine, “Time and Tide,” has a message from its editor to the people of New Zealand and Australia.

“When you read about Britain going into Europe, don’t believe it” he says. “Britain is not going into Europe. When you read ‘Britain,’ that means Mr Heath and a few carefully picked henchmen like Mr Rippon.

“The British people, who are Britain, are against going into Europe. Repeated polls have shown only 20 per cent in favour. Local elections and by-elections indicate that the Government will be turned out if it persists with its Europe delusion. “The heart of the British people is with the people of Australia and New Zealand and Canada, not with Europeans. You have never turned your back on Britain. The British people are not turning their back on you.”
