Pit Stops
The Volkswagen Owners’ Club's recent economy run was won by R. Fletcher (1962 VW1200) with a figure of 47.6 miles a gallon, a fuel consumption considered particularly good for the hilly course used. A 1957 VW 1200. driven by J. van Soest was second with 41.6 m.p.g., a 1964 model driven by C. Borland and a 1955 model driven by J. McDonald tied for third place with 40.8 m.p.g. * * *
Range-Rovers took first and fourth places in the recent cross-country vehicle “hill rally” held in Wales. The course included pqat bogs and rock slopes. There were 43 starters.
