An employment retraining scheme for workers displaced by technological change will be introduced soon by the Australian Government.
The scheme is designed to help those people whose employment is affected and who have difficulty obtaining alternative posts.
The Federal Treasurer (Mr Billy Snedden) told a forum organised by the National Labour Advisory Council. “It is clear that a definite need exists for training workers who are retrenched on account of technological change.”
