Coach sole selector
The national soccer coach (Mr B. Truman), has been appointed sole selector for the New Zealand national sides for 1971. It is the first time for many years that there has been a sole selector. However, Mr Truman will still have the assistance of three regional selectors who will be responsible for nominating players for the national squad from their areas. The regional selectors are Messrs K. Armstrong (northern), G. Evans (central) and W. Berry (southern). Mr Berry is the only newcomer to the panel from last year. Mr Truman will also be convenor for meetings of the selectors.
