Kent suffers back injury
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A severe bank injury has forced the Commonwealth Games gold medallist, H. D. Kent, to abandon his trip to Auckland to compete in the cycling meeting at New Lynn and Papatoetoe this weekend. The manager of the Papatoetoe carnival (Mr W. T. Dalton) said last night that Knt had telephoned to say he had sprained his back while weight training and it had failed to respond to treatment.
