The Executive Committee give notice that the following amendment to the Rules of the Association will be moved. RULE IV CLAUSE (IV)— Conditions of Membershippara (a): DELETE whole of Clause (IV) para (a), SUBSTITUTE new para (a). “Every member other than Life Members shall pay to the Association an annual subscription the amount of which shall be determined from time to time by the Association in General Meeting. All subscriptions shall be payable fiirst on application for membership and thereafter on the first (Ist) day of January in each year. Active members who have paid the 1 appropriate annual sub1 scription for a period of twenty-five (25) years without a break and retire on a Social Security Age Bene--1 fit, the War Veterans Allowance or War Service Pension • but do not receive a war disablement pension as--1 sessed at more than 40 per cent of total disablement 1 concurrently with that pension, shall be made Active ’ Life Members without , further subscription. Honorary Active Life Membership shall be awarded to all : veterans of the South ' African War who served with the New Zealand Contingent or other Imperial [ Forces. Honorary Life Membership shall be awarded to all members of the Women’s Services of World War 1 resident in ’ New Zealand. xplanation: The present Rule provides chat the annual subscription shall be altered or amended >nly by a postal ballot of financial members. The proi posed amendment transfers the authority for a change in the rate of annual sul> scription to financial members assembled in -general meeting. A new pension— War Service Pension—will be effective as from the Ist April, 1971, and as this substitutes for the War Veterans Allowance for 1939-45 war returned servicemen the addition of this pension to the Rule preserves entitlement to the award of Life Membership for those qualified under the Rule. 6.
