U.S. plane downed
WZ.P.A.-RouUr—CopgrigM) SAIGON, March 24. An American F-4 fighter bomber was hit by a surface-to-air missile yesterday in the vicinity of Dong Hoi in North Vietnam, the United States High Command said today. It said that this was the first time in three years that a United States plane had i been hit by a North Vietnamese missile. The command said both crew members of the fighterbomber ejected from the aircraft and were rescued today “in good condition." Dong Hoi on the eastern coast of North Vietnam is about 40 miles north of the : Demilitarised Zone dividing • North and South Vietnam.
