Coup plot denied
fN.Z.P.A.-Rratev—Copyright) ROME, March 24. Italy’s fugitive "Black Prince” has hit out pt charges that he had planned a Fascist coup to overthrow the Government, and branded -the accusations “a dirty political manoeuvre.” Police have been hunting Prince Junio Valerio Morghese, aged 64, since Friday when the Rome prosecutor issued a warrant charging
him with political conspiracy aimed at armed insurrection and altering the character of the State. Despite speculation that the Prince, four of whose followers have been detained in gaol for questioning on similar charges, has fled abroad, a letter received by his lawyer tonight said: "What the police affirm is laughable." The letter, signed by the Prince, had no postmark and appeared to have been written on Saturday. It was released to the press by the Prince’s lawyer as police announced the arrest of a fourth man, a retired air force colonel, in connection with the alleged plot.
