Armstrong improves
The Negro jazz trumpeter, Louis (“Satchmo”) Armstrong, who its 70, was allowed out of bed' on Sunday for the first time since he was taken to hospital a week ago, suffering from what was then described as a critical heart ailment. A spokesman for the hospital said that Mr Armstrong was making gratifying improvement, and had normal pulse, blood pressure and temperatures; but he would remain in the intensive care unit.
