BLOOD UNIT

Renewed visits to Wigram The North Canterbury blood tranfusion service’s mobile unit would be at the Royal New Zealand Air Force base at Wigram on Thursday to re-establish a blood donor panel, the secretary of the service (Mr A. T. Sindlen) said yesterday. The panel at Wigram had to be discontinued some time ago because of a reorganisation of the mobile units movements. In the 13 visits that were made the unit obtained 1430 donations and on Thursday it hopes to get about 150. The unit will be at Wigram from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and the service hopes to get blood from station staff and their dependents living on or near the station. Anyone aged between 16 and 20 may give blood. Mr JSindlen said the unit would visit Wigram at least twice a year.
