Test loss in water-ski-ing

(N.Z. Press Association) * AUCKLAND. Australia beat New Zealand in the fifth under-17 water-ski-ing test at Orakei Basin by 668 points in slightly choppy conditions today. This was the fourth Australian win in five years of tests, with New Zealand winning the second in 1968. Although New Zealand won the slalom event by 47 points and won the jump by 36 points, with the longest jump of the day of 84 feet by G. Ellis, Australia won the trick section by 754 points and clinched the test, 5551 points, to New Zealand’s 488.
