Brothers leap for lives
(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, Mar. 21. Two brothers jumped for their lives through a window today seconds before their bedroom exploded into an inferno. They were asleep in the flat of the Automobile Association headquarters in Maxwell Road when, at 5 a.m., they were woken by the noise of shattering glass and saw flames licking at the closed doors of their room. Clad only in their underclothes, they jumped through the closed window and seconds later the room burst into flame.
They were Mr Ross McKenzie, aged 19, and Mr Alan McKenzie, aged 17. They lost all their belongings.
