ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: The basic salary for an Associate Professor is SNZ7SOO per annum, but it is within the power of the Council to make appointments up to $7900 per anum, having regard to the qualifications of the candidate concerned.

LECTURERS/SENIOR LECTURERS; Commencing salaries will be established according to qualifications and experience within the scales SNZ43OO x 200$5500; $5600 x 200-$6600, with provision in exceptional cases for this to be extended up to $7200. DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING Applicants should have a good general education, preferably with School Certificate or U.E.,1 and be prepared to study for ai i N.Z. Certificate of Engineering! .(Electrical). Some experience in i electrical work and an - interest in electronics would be an advantage. Training will be given in general workshop practice as well as in the construction, operation and servicing of electrical and electronic equipment associated with research and teaching purposes. DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS Applicants should have or be Sualifying for U.E. or School ertificate, preferably with experience of mechanical workshop practice. Duties will involve maintenance and construction of a wide range of apparatus and instruments for teaching and research. Training will be given and the successful applicant will be required to study for a N.Z. Certificate of Engineering. DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY AND SOCIOLOGY The appointee will be required ito assist in the construction and I maintenance of scientific j apparatus. Skill in woodwork j and/or metal-work is desirable and some knowledge of photography would be an advantage also, but instruction in these skills will be given if necessary'. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of hostel administration and warden’s duties.
