LETTER TO MINISTER
Inaction on school land Another letter to the Minister of Education (Mr Taiboys), concerning the Bum-' side High School frontage to Memorial Avenue, will be written by the school’s board of governors expressing concern at the delay in deciding the matter, it was decided at a meeting of the board last evening. The secretary (Mr P. J. Halligan) read to the board a letter from Mr Taiboys saying that he had not yet discussed the matter with his colleagues, but would write to the board again when he had done so. Mr E. C. Robinson moved that the board write a diplomatic letter to Mr Taiboys, asking if he had yet reached a decision, as the board was anxious to have the matter finalised. The motion was carried. The dispute concerns that section of the school grounds on Memorial Avenue, that has been fenced off, pending its sale as building sections by the Department of Education.
