TRADE WITH ITALY
Promotional Bulletin
Regular distribution throughout New Zealand of [a monthly bulletin of trade news and information will be undertaken by the commercial office of the Italian Embassy in New Zealand.
The first issue of the bulletin. for the month of August, has, as its aim, to provide New Zealand businessmen with a synthesis of Italian production and to make them familiar with what the Italian market has to offer. In a forward to the eightpage publication, the Italian Ambassador to New Zealand (Mr G. Carnevali) says that in spite of the extraordinary development in technology and productiveness achieved by Italian industry since the Second World War, New Zealand’s purchases from Italy represent little more than 1 per cent of total imports, and have an over-all value of about half that of New Zealand exports to Italy. The bulletin will give general information and news of specific offers by Italian producers, together with details of measures regulating and facilitating overseas trade, Mr Carnevali says. “The embassy sincerely hopes that this modest contribution to the better understanding of commercial problems of interest to both countries will enjoy the favour of New Zealand businessmen and will prove to be a valuable guide in future importing activities,” he says.
