Prince And Mayor
Sir, —In reply to “Citizen,” I cannot be reminded of what did not happen. Last March when Royalty travelled through the saleyards roundabout, they were not “taken for a few turns around it.” Here is a correct entry from a countryside, expectable evidence that this city depends on agriculture. The Ferry Road entry reeks of drains. The farm smell is almost a whiff of country air. Descending the railway bridge the traveller glimpses the famous city green of Hagley Park. Royalty here would surely receive mayoral pardon for any epithet, if “taken for a few turns” round and round this or any other roundabout. —Yours, etc., A. B. CEDARIAN. September 5. 1970.
