Bells Peal
Bellringers at St Paul’s Church, Papanui, rang the first peal (5040 changes) heard in the district, on Saturday afternoon. The peal, which consisted of seven different extents of plain bob minor, took two hours and 42 minutes. The bellringers were Gillian Spence (treble), Jillian Richardson, Mary Spence, Ronald Stevens, Ross Williams, and Raymond Idle ttonnrl. Mr Idle conducted the peal.
