Best Time By Swimmer

Miss J. Parkhouse again beat her best time for the 400 metres individual medley at the start of the Canterbury section of the New Zealand swimming championships at the Wharenui pool last evening.

Miss Parkhouse’s time was smin 39.95ec, more than Isec faster than when she beat the New South Wales swimmers last week. But her time was 'still llsec outside the Canterbury and New Zealand record held by Miss S. J. Hunter, who did not swim.

The winter championships are being held throughout New Zealand in the next two weeks. The rest of the events In Canterbury will be held this afternoon and this evening.

A. B. Kindred, who just missed selection for the New Zealand Commonwealth Games team, was the only competitor in the men’s 400 metres Individual medley. Weighing more than 15st. he recorded a rather slow time of smin 45.25ec.
