AUCKLAND BEATEN
(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS. Hawke’s Bay held out against determined attacks to beat Auckland, 14-13, at Nelson Park yesterday. Hawke’s Bay scored two tries midway through the second spell to lead 14-5, and Auckland scored twice to narrow the lead to only one point with, five minutes of play remaining.
For Hawke’s Bay, P. Pratt i and T. Thorton scored tries, 1 I Bishop converted one and kicked a penalty and G. Mar-, tin dropped a goal For Auck-; land, P. R. Thorbun, T. W.| Tataurangi and K. R. Carrington scored tries and N. Brady converted two.
