Agreement On Hotels
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 29. Some agreement has been reached between the Hotel Association of New Zealand and the Hotel Workers* Federation on wage claims. The executive officer for the association (Mr J. J. Williams) said tonight that agreement was subject to the federation reporting back to its members at. a meeting on Friday. He could not specify the terms of the agreement The parties met today to discuss the federation’s claim for a 30 per cent interim wage increase and the association’s counteroffer of immediate renewal of the award with a negotion upwards from a guaranteed minimum wage increase of 15 per eent.
