Five Skaters Selected
Five artistic roller skaters have been named by the national federation to represent New Zealand at the world championships In Lincoln, Nebraska, starting on August 11. They are:— The dance pair champions, Marie and Bruce Lindsay (Auckland), the pairs champions, Anne Gillette and Peter McArthur (Napier), the women’s artistic title-holder, CristieLynne Fyson (Tauranga). McArthur, who holds the men’s solo title, will also contest the men's individual events. The manager Is Mr W. W. Keheiy (Cambridge), and the team will also be accompanied by the president of the federation (Mr H. A. AMehurch, of Christchurch), who wUI be New Zealand's delegate at the F.I.R.S. meeting. In a major reshuffle of officials, Mr Allchurch, the new president of the federation, also has the distinction of being president of the New Zealand Ice Skating Association. Other officials elected were:— Patron, Mr M. A. Connelly, M.P.; vice-presidents, Messrs D. Faigan (Auckland), D. Williams (Rotorua). I. Hughes (Christchurch), M. Clarke (Christchurch); secretary, Mrs J. Allchurch (Christchurch); treasurer, Mr G. Brader (Wellington); life members. Messrs G. S. Bright (Auckland), W. G. Pycroft (Christchurch); executive, Messrs I. Mackie (Palmerston North). E. J. Reid (Wellington), J. G. Bright (Auckland), and F. M. Alexander (Christchurch).
