(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) BRISBANE. The New Zealand golfer, A. Palmer, finished in thirteenth place, four strokes behind the winner, in the $lOOO Ashgrove tournament at Brisbane. Palmer had a one-under-par 69 for the 18 holes. A Victorian professional, G. McCully, scored an eagle and two birdies on the last three holes and with a total of 65 shared first prize with W. Dunk (New South Wales). R. Vines (Brisbane) failed to reach the joint winners when he bogied the last hole to finish with 66 on a tie for runner-up position with J. Newton (New South Wales).
