Food Hygiene Survey
The low incidence of infective diseases in the county would not tend to support any contention that there was something radically wrong with the food shop hygiene in the county, said Cr W. R. Holmes, when the Waimairi County Council last evening discussed the Health Department’s recent national survey. The Chief Health Inspector (Mr R. W. Gee) reported that he had analysed the department’s evaluations. The structural condition and maintenance of most county food premises was satisfactory, and compliance with the food hygiene regulations was at least on a par with that in the rest of the country.
