Canterbury Ski Report
Conditions for ski-ing at the week-end should be excellent after an average snowfall of sin at seven fields on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, according to a report received from the Canterbury Ski Association last evening. Porter Heights: 6in new snow, main and high tows working; road and car parks good, but chains should be carried.
Craigieburn Valley: 6in-Bin new powder snow, beginners, middle and top tows workingroad open, chains advisable. Round Hill: 6in more snow than last week: all taws operating; road open. but. chains advisable. Temple Basin: 6in more snow than last week-end; “downhill'’
tow and goods lift operating. Fox’s Peak. 9in of new powder snow fell and ski-ing to 4000 ft; three tows operating; road open, chains necessary; transport available from road gate. Amur!: 2in fall of powder snow and ski-ing good down to 4000 ft; chains advisable on road open to hut car park. Broken River: More snow than last Week: skiable level 4500 ft; tows operating; road open, but chains required.
Mount Cheeseman: sin more snow than last week-end. tows should be operating: cars with chains will get to “Long Spur Coronet Peak: 3in of snow fell last Wednesday and chairlift operating; skiable level 3800 ft: road open to restaurant.
