Ploughing Contest
Close scoring among the top finishers marked an Atlantic Silver Plough match yesterday on the property of Mr J. Ayers, at Methven. The winner, who qualified for the national final at Taieri, on July 17 and 18, was P. Carter, from Greenpark, with 163.3 points. E. J. Croy (Wakahui) scored 155 points, aM the next three finishers were all equal just behind Croy and all have a further chance to qualify for the national final at a later event. undulating and frosty paddocks were a real test for the competitors. but ploughing was of a high standard. The judges were Messrs D. J. Stewart. J. S. T. McGiffert and B J. McPhedran. Mr Stewart was a judge at the world championshipi in New Zealand. Results were:
