PARTS FOR TRUCKS
Investigation Of Cost (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 22. An investigation of prices for truck components had been started by the carrying industry, the president of the Road Carriers’ Association (Mr W. W. Knox) said today. In a statement issued in Wellington, Mr Knox said there were wide variations in prices for identical truck components. Complaints about quality and price variations and about the availability of parts had led the industry to set up a technical committee which was already studying a substantial number of reports, he said. “Typical of the complaints is one which quotes a particular component as costing $l5O from one source and $96 from another,” he said.
