Appeal Target Exceeded
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 15. A target of $6OOO for a distressed family has been exceeded by $743 with more letters to be opened. The fund will be for the welfare and education of the six children whose ages range from seven to 15 years and whose deserted mother is dying of cancer. Their father has not lived at home for seven years.
Today’s mail flow, the heaviest since the appeal began, has been attributed to increased publicity and to the sermons preached in many North Shore churches on Sunday.
