Softball Assn Seeks Reimbursement

The Canterbury Softball Association will seek reimbursement from the Otago association for all expenses incurred because of the late cancellation of Otago's proposed Jeffries Cup challenge.

A meeting of the association’s executive committee last evening decided to write to Otago because of the advertising, ground rental and other expehses incurred.

The executive will write to the Manawatu and Hawke s Bay associations seeking to play a triangular men’s and women’s tournament at Palmerston North; during the early part of next season before the national inter-provinciai Beatty Cup (men’s) and Bensel Cup tournaments are held at Christmas. t t Hutt Valley and Southland will be invited to compete in a similar type of tournament at Christchurch before the national tournaments.

Special Meeting The executive decided to hold a special general meeting open to all interested parties on April 27. to seek opinions and suggestions about the composition of the 1970-71 competition and other softball lt was decided not to restrict the meeting to elected club delegates.

Nominations tor senior men’s and women's representative selectors and coaches will close two days before the meeting.
