Hagley Car Park

Sir, —The parking of cars on the Armagh Street side of Hagley Park a success? Mr Guthrey fails to see the ugliness he has allowed in what was once a pleasant area for walking. Was this innovation planned to allow the able-bodied to hurry quickly to the kiosk or to save their energy for the nearby playing fields? Such parts of Hagley Park are to be appreciated for what they are, not for what they can be used for.—Yours, etc., V.H. March 21, ,1970.
